The line has announced that Norwegian Prima – the first of six Prima class ships – will launch in the summer of 2022
Norwegian Cruise Line has announced that it is renaming Project Leonardo, its next class of ships, as the Prima class.
Norwegian Prima, the first of six vessels, will launch in summer 2022, according to Cruise Critic.
With a capacity of 3,215 passengers, the Prima class ships will be smaller than the Breakaway and Breakaway-Plus class vessels. They will be built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, a departure from their recent newbuilds which were constructed by Meyer Werft in Germany.
Between August 17 and September 13, 2022, Norwegian Prima will make 10-day voyages from Amsterdam and Copenhagen, sailing in Northern Europe, the Norwegian fjords and Baltic region.
After that, on September 23, 2022, it will sail from Southampton on a 12-day transatlantic voyage to New York, before moving down to the Caribbean.
All sailings are on sale now.
