< >The ship will be based out of Dover in 2025
Holland America Line is to homeport a ship in the UK for the first time in 10 years, it has revealed.
The company will operate a full season out of Dover in 2025 with Pinnacle-class ship Nieuw Statendam operating 10 departures.
The itineraries will include sailings from 14 to 42 days including Canary Islands, British Isles, Iceland, Greenland, Iberia and eastern Mediterranean cruises.
“We’re really excited about Nieuw Statendam homeporting in Dover for a whole season in 2025 and the additional opportunities this provides to the trade, as well as our guests. The itineraries look incredible and varied, offering something for everyone – beyond Dover, our 10 homeports span Europe, and in 2025 we’re offering the most diverse range of itineraries that include everything from weeklong holidays to the Med to month-long explorations up to the Arctic,” said Karen Farndell, director of UK sales and marketing.
“We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our travel agent partners for their continued support and commitment throughout our milestone 150th year and we look forward to our relationship with the trade going from strength to strength.”
Sonia Limbrick, head of cruise at the Port of Dover, said: “We are thrilled to be a homeport for the Holland America Line for the 2025 season. The Port of Dover is already looking forward to welcoming the Nieuw Statendam and her passengers to our world-class cruise Port as they take in such a wide range of exciting itineraries. With our stunning waterfront, including a new marina and iconic views of Dover’s dramatic White Cliffs and Castle, it provides the perfect send-off and welcome home.”
New treatments include a Zero Gravity Wellness Massage
Regent Seven Seas Cruises, the ultra-luxury cruise line, has revealed a series of new spa features that will debut on its next ship Seven Seas Grandeur, which launches in November 2023.
The new treatments include best-in-class techniques and luxury ingredients from around the world, including treatments utilising the restorative power of an amber and quartz crystal bed, and an advanced treatment table for a Zero Gravity Wellness Massage.
In addition, a new treatment – the Tahitian Hydration Ritual – has been created exclusively for those staying in the 4,443 square foot Regent Suite, which can be enjoyed in the suite’s very own private spa.
“We are thrilled to expand our Serene Spa & Wellness offerings exclusively for our valued guests on board Seven Seas Grandeur,” said Andrea DeMarco, President of Regent Seven Seas Cruises. “Not only can guests enjoy the relaxation of Serene Spa & Wellness services already found across the world’s most luxurious fleet, but they can now be pampered with new, innovative treatments, making their unrivalled experience even more lavish and indulgent.”
The Zero Gravity Wellness Massage is done by creating a zero-gravity effect. The body is suspended on an advanced treatment table that allows for ergonomic workflows and a series of sophisticated techniques. Eight table positions enable effective and precise reach of every muscle group in a choreographed massage, focusing on the back and main muscles to release tension and improve body mechanics.
The new treatments on board Seven Seas Grandeur are 75 minutes long and priced at $299 per guest.
