Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is offering 10 agents the chance to win a VIP cruise to Iceland this June. The competition has been launched to celebrate the line’s new programme of sailings for summer 2023. Princess Cruises has announced that Eithne Williamson will become its new vice president UK and Europe from late June.
Williamson replaces Tony Roberts, who joined Seabourn last month as global vice president, commercial operations and head of UK and Europe.
Williamson’s previous roles include marketing communications director for P&O Cruises, where she led record WAVE campaigns in 2016 and 2017. More recently, she was vice president of fleet people operations for Carnival UK.
Williamson said: “I’m thrilled to be appointed as vice president UK and Europe at such an exciting time for the Princess brand, with four ships based in Southampton for the first time this summer. I was able to sample the MedallionClass Experience on Sky Princess last season and I am looking forward to taking this amazing product to more travel agent partners and guests in the years to come.”
The Advantage Travel Partnership has announced that Jonny Peat, Celebrity Cruises’ luxury business development manager, is to become its next commercial manager – cruise, starting from April 29.
Peat has worked for Celebrity since 2014 and has also held positions with Viking Cruises, Thomas Cook and Princess Cruises.
The role will report to John Sullivan – head of commercial.
Sullivan said: “Jonny is a great appointment and will be a strong addition to the team as we focus on growing our share of the cruise market moving forward.
“With his extensive experience of the UK cruise sector and a strong profile across the UK travel industry, he will work closely with our network of cruise partners to further strengthen our cruise proposition for members as well as help us drive our overall cruise strategy, through developing a robust and enhanced communications and events programme with our Cruise Champions.”
Riviera Travel has promoted Jessica Payne to business development executive. She was previously in the company’s contact centre.
Prior to that she worked for five years overseas as a rep in Rhodes, Costa del Sol, Mallorca, Mexico, Thasos and Thailand.
Payne will manage a number of trade accounts across the UK, and will help develop agents who want to start selling river cruise and touring holidays. She will report to Tom Morgan, head of agency sales UK & Ireland.
Riviera has made several trade-specific sales and business development appointments during the past two years, as the company continues to strengthen its relationships with its travel partners. A number of recently-created vacancies in sales, customer service and administration are currently open.
Payne said: “I’m delighted to take on this new role and responsibilities, as the opportunities for agents to sell river cruise and touring holidays are clear. I’m really looking forward to helping grow our business as travel further opens up, and continuing the great work the team have delivered to support the trade.”
Morgan added: “Jessica has shown enormous potential during her time with Riviera and we’re thrilled to have her join the team. Scenic has appointed former MSC Cruises head of retail Andrea Stafford as director of trade sales and made five new hires.
Stafford will oversee the newly restructured trade-dedicated team of 10 people. Stafford, who started in her new role earlier this month, reports to Scenic Group’s chief sales and marketing officer, Anna Wolfsteiner.
Alongside her role at MSC, Stafford has worked in sales leadership roles at Royal Caribbean Cruises and Thomas Cook, and started out in the industry in the late 1990s as a regional sales manager for First Choice Holidays.
