Explora Journeys has announced its ‘Journey Together Gatherings’ programme, a programme that’s designed for travel advisors to book small groups, extended and multi-generational families – the new offering starts with five suites and a minimum of 10 guests. Travel advisors can benefit from a complimentary host berth, rewarding commission payments and each suite reserved comes with a complimentary Journey Experience credit to use onboard. This programme will build on the original Journey Together and Journey Together+ programmes, making planning and payment more seamless for travellers and offering additional benefits to agents. trade partners and agents the opportunity to immerse themselves in the ‘Ambassador experience’ on board either
Ambience (currently in service) or
Ambition at a port that is convenient for them. From May 12, 2023, Ambassador will sail from seven UK ports, enabling UK guests to sail from across the country. As part of the ship visit initiative,
trade partners and agents can get on board at London Tilbury, Newcastle, Dundee, Liverpool, Belfast, Bristol and Falmouth. There are 17 dates available, split across
Ambience (between March and November at Tilbury) and

New hires: Clia, Azamara and Ambassador Cruise Line
Sascha Gill
Clia is strengthening its sustainability credentials in Europe with the appointment of Sascha Gill as vice president, sustainability.
Gill has previously worked as vice president, nautical operations and has had several roles within hotel operations, and learning and development, for Viking. Gill’s cruise experience also includes roles onboard Seabourn Cruise Line and Cunard.
“I am delighted to be joining Clia at such a critical time for the industry,” he said. “The cruise industry has shown its ability to lead
environmental innovation within the maritime sector and I’m looking forward to working closely with our members and partners across Europe to help the industry to achieve its sustainability ambitions.”
Adam Morris
Azamara has announced the appointment of Adam Morris as business development manager, UK.
Focused on driving trade growth, Morris will invest more time with existing agent partners, encouraging deeper involvement with Azamara, and reach more of the smaller independent agencies and consortia members across the UK and Ireland.
This reinforced UK sales team, led by head of trade sales UK, Stuart Pearce, is offering increased support for agents nationally, to help drive sales and grow Azamara’s presence in the UK market.
Morris joins Azamara from Royal Caribbean, where he undertook roles as regional sales manager and key account manager. During this time, Morris’ impressive relationship with the trade helped maximise results and deliver future growth at the company.
Karen Cameron
Ambassador Cruise Line has appointed Karen Cameron as divisional sales manager.
With oversight of trade business in the North of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, she will report into head of distribution, Nicola Harper and work alongside Louise Tansey, who is also joining as divisional sales manager, South and Wales.
Cameron has worked in the travel industry for almost 30 years, including management roles with Stewart Travel, Barrhead and Thomas Cook.
At Carnival UK, Karen worked across P&O Cruises, Cunard and Princess Cruises as regional manager. More recently, she was regional head of experience at Haven, part of Bourne Leisure.
Cameron will foster existing commercial relationships in the North to maximise sales opportunities, while instigating new agent and trade partnerships.
